Reviews to Spring 2019
We thank those guests who have been minded to review their stay through our Facebook page, OTA, FreetoBook and/or on Google maps. Reviews ahead of our Summer 2019 season are included here.
Pre-High Season 2019
“We have been looking to return to the area for some time. What influenced us is the location – proximity to scenery, beaches, Pub (grub), Clon for shopping and plenty of excursion options to stay outdoors as much as possible. Your property also seems very comfortable indeed. The website and the general ease of navigation & no-fuss booking facilitated an impetuous purchase while the mood was right; this is an important factor for online sales and your website and payment process has that so well done.” – Alex, Ireland
“Lovely high standard self-catering accommodation, in a peaceful countryside location. In close reach (by car) of charming Clonakilty as well as other country towns and coastal attractions. The hosts (who live nearby) are friendly and helpful, keen to help guests enjoy their stay. The cottage in which I stayed had single beds side by side rather than a double. The complex of several cottages makes the venue suitable for larger groups as well as individual holiday-makers.” Glenda, Australia (on Google Maps).
“Is very relaxed place and modern house. 2 big rooms with private bathroom and another bathroom for guests.”
“I really enjoy this area …….very quiet…. peaceful in the house….very modern…… you can find the most important stuff you need for your stay. Is warm cosy……I project to back in May. Not too far from Clonakilty shops.”
– Samir, UK (Guest in 1 Ballynoe Mews)
“A quick shout out to Ballynoe House for the accommodation this weekend. Lovely place would highly recommend it.” – Nabila Tejpar, British Ladies Rally Champion; West Cork Rally Weekend 2019.
“Very comfortable and clean accommodation, could not find a fault with anything. Owner was very pleasant and helpful. I would highly recommend Ballynoe House. We had an excellent meal in O’Donovan’s Hotel in Clonakilty and a guided tour of the recently opened Clonakilty Distillery. We had great Craic in The Mountain House Steak and Seafood Bar in Ardfield.” – Eddie O’Donnell Jr, Rally Driver, Isle of Mull
“This was a well equipped, immaculately presented, modern Courtyard cottage, great countryside location with local shop and pub nearby. I would definitely stay here again. Also excellent West Cork rally viewing.” – Simon Proud, Rally co-driver.
2018 – Our First Summer Season
“Our second stay of the holiday – a rental mews at Ballynoe House, 10 minutes from Clonakilty – is another dramatic antidote to the stale air of the indoor playcentres we’ve been hanging around in Dublin. Our two start every day looking for little people in a fairy wood in the surrounding meadows created by the owners, Felicity and Mark Grace, while we adults admire the lavender gardens and kind of high-end finish that wouldn’t be out of place in an IFSC penthouse. The bathroom mirrors come on when you wave your hand underneath.” (Anne Marie Walsh, The Irish Independent).
“We so enjoyed our stay at Ballynoe House. It was the perfect place for a reunion of family and friends. Mark and Felicity have created a real haven in one of the most beautiful places in West Cork. We loved walking to Sand’s Cove and exploring the fairy garden. The layout of the house is wonderful for large groups. Each bedroom has an en-suite. We especially loved gathering around the huge dining table and eating together at the end of the day. Thanks so much. We won’t hesitate to recommend your lovely place to friends.” (Wayne & Mary, California, USA)
“Excellent property in quiet location safe for children with lots of space to play – New property with top end equipment and very spacious. Fairy garden for children to entertain them. Fruit bowl and flowers were a nice touch.”
“Facilities were top end. Nice finishing touches with fruit bowl and flowers left in the house.” – Helen, Ireland (Guest in The Barn House)
“We enjoyed so much spending a fortnight there with our grand-children and children: just amazing: very high standard of property, quiet, such a good welcome by the owners who are available and very helpful. The area is just incredibly attractive, tradition and modernity, breathtaking landscapes and nice people. A destination and property we advise without hesitation…Just wonderful !!!” – Evelyne, France (Guests in The Barn House & 1 Ballynoe Mews)
Open House (The Barn House Sitting Room)
Open House – Sunday 8th April 2018
