Reviews & Comments for Ballynoe House (from Summer/Autumn Guests 2019)

Recent Reviews from Guests staying at Ballynoe House

We really appreciate it when guests are moved and take the time to review their stay with us, whether it be through email, our Facebook page, the OTA used, FreetoBook and/or on Google maps. Our latest reviews are posted here.

While bookings through OTAs are not a large part of our business (most of our guests book directly after referrals or recommendation, preferring a personalised service that booking direct brings) we are nevertheless pleased with our 9.7/10 OTA score based on 6 reviews, which is points above the general market and peer group used in the statistics.

Overall, our model of bringing niche, superior self-catering and autism-friendly accommodation to the discerning West Cork visitor has become recognised in just our second season. We were disappointed we had to decline many booking enquiries this year as we were fully booked during the peak holiday season. The Ballynoe House calendar for 2020/2021 is open for reservations.

Summer & Autumn 2019

“Welcoming friendly knowledgeable hosts. Beautiful comfortable accommodation in a peaceful location.” – Kerry, Castlebar, Ireland (1 Ballynoe Mews, July 2019).

“We had a lovely week with our two daughters in one of the Mews. The accommodation is very nice and everything is catered for. Our hosts were excellent and very friendly to deal with – offering tips and suggestions for eating and activities in the area.” – Alex, Dundalk, Ireland (1 Ballynoe Mews, June 2019).

“Everything was perfect. Beautiful property in a stunning location.” – Barbara, Liverpool, UK (1 Ballynoe Mews, July 2019).

“The communication upfront was swift and clear. At arrival we received a very warm welcome, Mark and Felicity are excellent hosts. The accommodation is luxurious, spacious and very practical. Nice terrace with a view to the lovely and well-maintained flower garden. Location is great, only 10min walk to the nearest beach. We can absolutely recommend Ballynoe House! Thanks again Mark and Felicity, you’ve created a wonderful place to enjoy and relax.” – Chris, Belgium. (The Barn House, July 2019).

“Tasteful, cosy, elegantly furnished – a very special hideaway. Mark and Felicity are perfect hosts! We’re happy to come back.” – Gertraud, Austria (1 Ballynoe Mews, July 2019).

“Thanks for such a great week in Ballynoe House. We came to stay with you (as we) sought suitable accommodation to be inclusive of a three-generation family get together, and to meet (the) specific needs in relation to (our son’s) ASD. We were unaware of Clonakilty’s status as an Autism-Friendly Town and were pleased to be able to confirm this for ourselves through the week. We all hope you have a great summer and continued success with Ballynoe House.” – Frank, Belfast (on behalf of a family of 17 occupying all three guesthouses, June/July 2019).

“Thanks for everything. The house is so stunning.” – Karen, Dublin, Ireland (returnee to 2 Ballynoe Mews, August 2019).

“Wonderful place, location & people! Nearby beach is stunning.” – Film Crew, Met Film Production, Ealing Studios, London (Barn House, July 2019).

“We enjoyed a fabulous few days at Ballynoe House. Everything was perfect. The house is so well designed. Beautifully furnished, spotlessly clean & very comfortable. The location was ideal for us. Close to Clonakilty and close to the beautiful coastline and beaches. We would love to return & have already recommended the accommodation to our friends. Thank you to Mark & Felicity. Tips on places to eat: Scannell’s Bar,  Clonakilty & The Fish Basket, Long Strand (the most fabulous fish plater enjoyed outside in a perfect coastal setting).” – Barbara, Liverpool, UK (1 Ballynoe Mews, July 2019).

“Such a fabulous house! The children loved the fairy wood and being able to play outside.” – Joanne, Ireland (Mews 2, August 2019).

“Hosts were extremely friendly and welcoming and due to living close by would always be available if needed for any queries. Felicity and Mark have done an exceptional job creating this beautiful environment for guests to enjoy, it really caters for all from large family groups to people just looking to escape for a rural quiet break in smaller groups. Tips for other travellers: Mountain House Bistro for Dinner – Top Quality; Dunmore House for its wonderful views; Beaches – Inchydoney, White Strand and close by Red Strand for a morning dip; Smugglers Cove in Rosscarbery was a favourite for the kids (Crazy Golf); If weather is not great for outdoor swimming there is a nice pool available which people can go to in the Celtic Ross Hotel in Rosscarbery; Lunch in Glandore is also a must when down this way, beautiful setting on a sunny day. So much to see and do in this area, cannot wait to return again.” The Burke Family, (The Barn House & Mews 1, August 2019).

“Lots of great tips on the Ballynoe house website. Would recommend the Whale Tail bistro for food too!” (Niall, Mews 1, September 2019).

“Extremely high quality finish within the accommodation, excellent layout making it a pleasure to stay at this facility. Owners operate a highly efficient business which makes the stay even more pleasurable. Ideal location for our requirements within striking distance of the wider West Cork hinterlands.” Pierce (The Barn House & Mews 1 & 2, October 2019).
